Who We Are
The YWCA of Racine has been affiliated with Dress for Success since 2004. The mission of Dress for Success Racine is to promote the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.
What We Do | Suits
The clothing that Dress for Success Racine provides to our clients symbolizes our faith in every woman's ability to succeed.
Dress for Success Racine solves the catch-22 that confronts disadvantaged women trying to enter the workforce: without a job, how can you afford a suit? But without a suit, how can you get a job?
Each Dress for Success Racine client receives one suit when she has a job interview and additional apparel—up to a week's worth of clothing—when she becomes employed.
After a client finds work, she can return to Dress for Success Racine for her employment suiting, during which we provide her with enough additional apparel to mix and match for up to a week's worth of outfits.
Job-ready women come to Dress for Success Racine by referral only from a range of non-profit organizations. Each client works one-on-one with a highly-trained volunteer Personal Shopper, who helps her select professional attire and also provides support and encouragement as the woman prepares for her upcoming interviews.
Donate Clothing
Dress for success Racine accepts: skirts or pants suits, blouses, blazers and jackets, pants and skirts (especially black, navy and khaki), new or nearly-new dress shoes, scarves, handbags and new pantyhose.
We do not accept: sleepwear, casual, sporty, or evening attire; under garments; used cosmetics and pantyhose; dresses; leather, suede, corduroy, silk or denim garments; sneakers, open toe or open heel shoes; or men’s clothing.
Because many of our clients leave our showroom to go directly to an interview, all donations should be in excellent, ready-to-wear condition (laundered & ironed or dry-cleaned & pressed), no more than five years old and on hangers. Donations that we cannot use may be donated to another charity or sold with proceeds used to purchase additional clothing. Dress for Success Racine is a registered 501(C) (3) non-profit organization and all donations are tax deductible.

· Mentors
· Fundraising Committee Members
· Short-Term Consultants
· Shop Maintenance Personnel
· Administrative Assistants
Donate Funding
Financial support is absolutely essential to the ongoing success of Dress for Success Racine, enabling us to sustain our programs and expand our services to reach even more women in need of assistance. Any gift, however large or small, makes a substantial difference and helps a disadvantaged woman both find a job and turn that job into a rewarding career.
